Your doctor could have many different recommendations to treat tinnitus after your evaluation. Sometimes treatment isn’t even required and it will go away by itself. Other times there is no way to treat tinnitus and you have to learn to live with it.

There are also some simple things you can do to treat tinnitus. When it comes to eating habits, you can make sure you don’t have too much sodium and caffeine. If you are a smoker, you should consider quitting as that can flare up the nerves that cause tinnitus. You should also have your blood pressure checked as high blood pressure or other spikes in anxiety affect tinnitus, and you can treat it by lowering those. You can also treat tinnitus with plenty of sleep and exercise. Other simpler things such as avoiding loud noises treat tinnitus, but keep in mind that you can use somewhat loud noises to mask your case of tinnitus.
